John Ramirez is a Disney story board artist and theme park designer, and it seems his talents in those fields have combined with an interest in Japan to make for a fantastic series of charming images.
Surprisingly, these classic Disney characters and Disney-inspired characters are able to smoothly fit into photos of 19th and 20th century Japan, some from film. While they definitely stand out, they don't seem to disrupt the delightful and elegant aesthetic of the original work, perhaps because the characters and photographs are united by the nature of being from bygone eras. Take a look and perhaps feel a pang of nostalgia for something you didn't know you missed.
Be sure to step into this world that combines the fascinating aesthetic of old Japan (and film!) and the innocence of Disney characters at John Ramirez's Instagram.
