Traditional Japanese food is not just known for its flavor, but also for its beautiful aesthetic. Naturally plating plays a big part in presenting food pleasantly, and now you can do so very fittingly with this table set inspired by another gorgeous sight in Japan--the five story pagoda, or gojū-no-tō (五重塔), as it is called in Japanese. While it would be wonderful decorative piece in its own right, the pagoda is actually an assembled set of tableware.

Called the "Ancient Capital Bowl Pagoda" (koto utsuwa Goju, 古都うつわ GOJU), the table set is a product of hasami-yaki ceramics, a traditional craft that makes use of high quality porcelain and delicately painted decorations (usually blue). This original dinnerware set from plywood makes use of all its components, as it breaks down into: five square plates, five tiered food boxes, one small bowl, as well as five chopstick rests on the pagoda finial.

We can imagine a fun reaction from dinner guests if you were to preemptively place food in the pagoda, and then one-by-one disassemble and reveal a beautiful meal.
