Personal diaries are often kept locked and hidden under bed mattresses and pillows, away from the inquisitive eyes of nosy friends and family. But Japanese Instagrammer @skrartagram's pictorial diary is far from being veiled in secrecy — complete with incredibly detailed drawings, it's open for the whole world to see, and frankly, we're glad it is.
The accounts of each day are all accompanied by intricate, breathtaking illustrations drawn with a pen. The diary is actually a personal "challenge" @skrartagram came up with for herself, and she is sharing the progress of her artistic endeavor on Instagram and Twitter. Many of the drawings are of plants, which the Yokohama resident describes is a rich but familiar theme from which she can endlessly get ideas for her illustrations, especially on days when she's not sure of what to draw. Besides plants, she is often seen drawing animals and famous fictional characters.
@skrartagram shares her other artwork on Twitter, and more pages of her pictorial diary on Instagram. If only we could log accounts of our day-to-day events in drawings this phenomenal.
