By now, everyone has either wrapped themselves in or completely moved on from Comedian Kosaka Daimaou's standup persona's global viral hit, PPAP. The global phenomenon has spawned swanky outfits and even a cafe in Tokyo with a super predictable menu. Needless to say, many parodies on YouTube have been released since the song took off, but none make quite as much sense as this Death Note version released to help promote the new Death Note film Death Note: Light up the NEW World.
The parody features the mysterious but charming Ryuk, a shinigami with a noted fondness for apples. It only seems appropriate that Ryuk would join in on the viral craze, partly as a means of getting his deathly hands on apples, and perhaps as a covert way of collecting souls.
