Last year, Hyatt Regency Osaka was hit with an endless rush of matcha-loving crowds during their limited time Matcha Mania dessert buffet. The buffet turned out to be so popular, in fact, that the hotel has decided to treat guests with another round of matcha paradise with the Matcha Mania Returns dessert buffet!
Similar to the previous Matcha Mania, this year’s buffet will boast a huge lineup of mouthwatering matcha sweets and savory dishes. The main desserts include matcha Paris-Brests, matcha cheesecakes, matcha chiffon cakes, and matcha macarons, along with an array of more matcha goodness.

There will be also be Japanese-style sweets like matcha parfaits, as well as a live cooking area where pastry chefs will prepare perfectly made matcha creme brûlées with torches right in front of the guests. To refresh the palate after devouring plates of saccharine delectables, the buffet also offers all-you-can-eat savory foods so customers can go back to eating more of their favorite sugary treats.

Better yet, all of the matcha dishes can be washed down with cups of green tea, and the hotel recommends the Uji tea set that allows guests to try 7 different Japanese teas. Of course, there are other options like coffee, but why settle for anything less than 100% matcha?

Matcha Mania Returns can be enjoyed at the Hyatt Regency Osaka from April 1st to August 27th in the 1st floor lobby lounge. The dessert buffet is 3,900 yen (US$35) for adults and 1,950 yen (US$18) for children, but those who come wearing green clothing or an accessory will get a 300 yen (US$3) discount from the standard price. Reservations can be made online, so make sure to book a table for this matchalicious heaven before it gets as packed as last year.
