One of the most beautiful and otherworldly landscapes on our planet, the Salar de Uyuni in the Bolivian Altiplano is on the list of places to visit for many tourists headed to South America. When covered with a thin layer of rainwater, the largest salt flats in the world famously create perfectly smooth mirror-like vistas which are a favorite among photographers.
However, as it turns out, Japan also has its own mirror landscape providing a breathtakingly beautiful scene.
Niigata Prefecture-based photographer and Twitter user Shin Uehara posted these amazing shots of the Sasagawa Nagare coastline.

"These are pictures I took at the Sasagawa Nagare in Murakami City, Niigata-Prefecture, Niigata's very own "Uyuni." There was a spot surrounded by rocks that created a beautiful reflection!"
To reproduce the same conditions for the shot, he advises you to aim for a sunny day with some clouds hanging in the sky but no wind, since the ripples would ruin the mirror surface. In case you were wondering, the equipment he used was a Nikon D750 with a Tamron wide-angle lens (SP 15-30mm F/2.8 Di VC US).
