Totti Candy Factory’s giant rainbow cotton candies became an icon of Harajuku recently, attracting those in search of the most Instagrammable foods in Tokyo. After this success, their parent company Sugar Factory have opened a shop this week in the same trendy area, with the theme of the longest snacks in Japan.

It’s called ‘LONG! LONGER! LONGEST!’, a name which definitely evokes the concept of long-ness in our minds. The reason for this name is that each delicious treat is available in three sizes, from the simply ‘long’ to the ‘longest’ option with holds the prestigious title of longest in Japan.

The vertically endowed food items up for grabs are cotton candy (of course), tornado potato, churros and an ice cream cone. The tornado potato, which is kind of like a long twisty French fry, comes in a variety of flavours. You can choose from barbeque, consommé or chilli garlic. The churros also have some flavouring options, namely choco crunch, caramel crunch or almond crunch.

Photogenic food hunters can't deny the convenience of all these snacks being sold at one kiosk and the location is also a bonus. Takeshita Street in Harajuku is a tourist hotspot and famous haunt of fashionable teenage girls, two groups known for searching out Instagram worthy foods.
When it comes to the gigantification of snacks, we can only hope this trend continues until we see all our favourite confections pushing boundaries in the longest form they can be.
