Onsen, or traditional hot springs, are some of Japan's most sought after travel spots, with some truly magical destinations that are bound to make you feel like you're bathing in the world of Spirited Away. The Hakone Kowakien Yunessun resort offers everything you need from an onsen, but in the past has branched off from tradition by introducing baths using wine, green tea, coffee, and even maple syrup pancake hot springs. Now the resort is celebrating beefing up with an event titled the "Yunessun Meat Festival", and the centerpiece are soy protein shake hot springs!
Running from May 8th until July 10th, the Yunessun Meat Festival will offer baths filled with soy protein. As with their previous themed-onsens, Yunessun is touting the benefits of the added ingredient, saying that the soy isoflavone and collagen contained in the baths help moisturize and revitalize skin. Staff on hand will also be performing bodybuilding posing throughout the event.
The in-house restaurant will also be dishing out a muscle-themed menu, including soy sweets and a "mountain sized" roast beef bowl.
The event will run until July 10th of this year, and access information for the Hakone Kowakien Yunessun resort can be found at their homepage.
