Anata no Warehouse (Your Warehouse), a Japanese arcade modeled after Hong Kong’s Kowloon Walled City, is closing its doors. The arcade is famous for its unique spooky and dystopian aesthetic which is often compared to Blade Runner, has announced it will be closing November 17th. For years, the arcade has been celebrated as a fascinating retro gaming experience where the post-apocalyptic surroundings make for popular photo shoots.
Unfortunately, to the dismay of many fans, the legendary arcade announced that it will be permanently closing. The arcade's management hasn't specified any one reason for the decision, but said it will be closing due to "various circumstances."
Fans have speculated that Anata no Warehouse is shutting its doors because it's become another casualty of the decreasing sustainability of arcade centers in Japan. Whatever the reason, the end of the landmark quirky arcade is being lamented by fans on Twitter, who are vowing to go "one last time".
It's short notice, but if you wish to make the pilgrimage before it's too late, head on over to Anata no Warehouse for a spooky gaming time.
