Nyarageta are feline-motif take on geta (traditional Japanese sandals) madeby Nara-based footwear maker Narageta (the name of the sandals is a pun combining the maker's name with the Japanese word for "meow"--"Nya"). Those not used to geta often find them difficult to walk in, but Nyarageta use a foam-based shock absorbent base called EVA to provide comfort and mobility that may be lacking in standard geta.
Narageta are now releasing a new pure white version to celebrate White Day. The one-sized-fits-all women's sandals are water resistant, so aside from matching a cat lover's yukata or kimono, they make for good beach or pool wear as well.
The white Nyarageta are available from Narageta's online shop for 3,850 yen, and also on Amazon as well.
