MAPPA to adapt Chainsaw Man into anime
As has been widely rumored, the popular manga Chainsaw Man チェンソーマン, written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto and serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since December 2018, will be getting an anime adaptation from MAPPA, the studio known for critically acclaimed anime such as Attack on Titan, Dorohedoro, and Jujutsu Kaisen.
As of December 2020, Chainsaw Man had over 5 million copies in circulation and, although it does have violent scenes, it has been generally well-received by critics for its engaging storytelling as well as its dark humor. In North America, it has been published by Viz Media since October 2020 and is also available on Shueisha's Manga Plus online platform.
