Japan's Mont Blanc specialty shop 生搾りモンブラン専門店 namashibori monburan senmonten (literally "freshly-pressed Mont Blanc specialty shop") released a brand-new dessert on March 11th, 2021.
The store’s new luxurious Strawberry Mont Blanc (苺のモンブラン / ichigo no monburan) uses fresh strawberries as ingredients and a specially-made cream with fragrant chestnuts from Italy and Kumamoto Prefecture.
Kumamoto Prefecture’s chestnuts are widely used in Japan and are known for their rich and elegant aroma and delicate sweetness.
The crunchy meringue with the unique blend of strawberries and chestnut cream creates the perfect balance and harmoniously blends the flavors.
Besides the delicious taste, the dessert also has a pleasant scent of strawberries and a lovely pink color that reminds you of Spring.
The finishing touch consists of the strawberries on top that give it a refreshing sweet-sour taste and complete the luxurious appearance.
Since it first opened half a year ago in October 2020, the specialty shop has gained a lot of attention. It now plans to expand operations to other parts of Japan such as Hamamatsu, Chiba, Nagoya, etc.
Currently, they have two types of locations: a dessert café and a take-out stand.
To create a high-quality chestnut cream formed of vermicelli only 1 mm in diameter, they use an antique press. The process of making it has been so popular that many people have posted it on their social media accounts.
