Despite multiple postponements, the recent release of Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time has given fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion a conclusion to one of the most iconic anime series of all times. With that cathartic release comes a bit of melancholy, however, as many fans are likely mourning the idea of the series coming to an end.

Japanese large doll and figure maker Paper Moon R is doing their best to keep Evangelion alive in a big way, however, as they are releasing a new life-size Rei Ayanami doll that is completely posable.

Paper Moon R's figures are known for their movable joints, making them adjustable to different situations such as recreating scenes from an anime or setting up in more creative displays. The company suggests giving their new Rei doll a seat in your car and going for a drive as an example.

The makers aimed to strike a balance between honoring Rei's artistic design by making her appear as if lifted straight from the anime, and reproducing her appearance as an actual human being. The figure wears a plugsuit made of cloth, features a realistic wig, and while it has a fixed facial expression, Paper Moon R says that it's designed so that tilting the head and viewing from different angles can produce different moods.

The 158cm tall (5'2) and 10kg (22 lbs) Rei is made of fiber-reinforced plastic, which is used for hulls of small ships and unit baths, but is lightweight, impact-resistant, and resistant to wear and tear over time.

What may stand out the most about the Rei figure, however, is it's rather expensive price tag of 1,980,000 yen ($ 18,147.79 USD)! So if you're an Evangelion fan with some scratch, feel free to make a reservation (delivery can take up to three months) at the official Paper Moon R website.
