With international tourism and travel currently out of the picture, Pringles are taking us on a global tastebud journey this year with their potato chips series ‘Pringles Passport flavors’, which features classic flavors from across four different continents. The series voyage of 2021 started with the release of ‘Pringles TEXAS Rib’ which was unleashed nationwide back in March.
Now, the journey continues, and the next stop is the southwestern province of China – Sichuan – with the release of ‘Pringles SICHUAN Stir-fried Chicken’.
The new flavor pays tribute to the sweet and spicy taste profile of Sichuan cuisine’s stir-fried chicken – a popular dish amongst gastronomic cuisine in Asia. The dish is known for pieces of tender fried chicken accompanied by vegetables seasoned with soy sauce, garlic and onions. That sweet flavoring is juxtaposed and evenly matched by the spicy punch of chili peppers.
The ‘Pringles SICHUAN Stir-fried Chicken’ flavor retains that spicy hit that is peculiar to Sichuan cuisine, and finished with an intense sweetness that will have you craving for more. Enjoy it alongside a cup of sake and you are sure to feel like you are enjoying authentic Chinese food. You will also discover that travelling is not limited to physically moving from place to place, and that it can be enjoyed through all five senses, including the power of Taste.
The packaging of the new flavor features a motif of chicken, chilli peppers and spice powder ‘dancing’ over a traditional Chinese bowl. The backdrop of the tube details historical cityscapes of China set against the sky blue colouring that symbolizes the Pringles ‘Passport flavors’ series.
The new flavor will be available to purchase from food stores across Japan from 19 April 2021.
