GBL, an official Studio Ghibli apparel brand based in Japan, always has the coolest looks on offer, inspired by various characters from the iconic animation studio. But until now, the brand has avoided accessory lines.
Well no more! Their very first accessory series called ‘My Treasure’ has been announced. The film chosen to base the designs on is Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, and it features the protagonist Nausicaa, as well as the creepy-looking, giant creatures, the Ohmu.
The collection is made in Japan, and each brass jewellery piece is super detailed. There’s a necklace portraying Nausicaa flying on the Möwe aircraft (9900 yen).
The same motif is used in a dangly earring (5500 yen).
For the Ohmu-inspired goods, there’s an earring featuring the creature, with a splash of colour coming from the blue eyes (5500 yen).
Lastly, there’s an awesome Ohmu ring (9900 yen).
The Ohmu earring and ring can also be copped with red eyes, but these items are exclusive to the GBL store in Miyashita Park, Shibuya, and can be preordered in-store.
The collection is available for preorder now online on Donguri Kyowakoku, and they should go on sale around the end of July.
