The many seasonal and limited edition flavors of Starbucks Japan's Frappuccinos comes in a wide variety of flavors, but they have a habit of dressing up on Halloween. For past celebrations of everyone's favorite fright night, Starbucks has released Halloween Witch and Princess renditions, as well as a bloody red night masquerade flavor of their popular Frappuccinos.
That tradition continues this year, with the release of the new Treat with Trick Frappuccino. The new beverage is actually a Halloween twist on their fall favorite Roasted Sweet Potato Frappuccino, which puts a Halloween costume on top of the Frapp in terms of both aesthetic and taste.
The new beverage takes the Roasted Sweet Potato Frappuccino's base ingredients, but darkens its appearance with a dose of chocolate powder and gives a "spooky" drizzling of purple potato flavored syrup on top.
In addition, customers can pay an extra 108 yen (110 yen if you drink in store) to add "Popping Topping" candy (a fizzle and pop in your mouth candy like Pop Rocks, but with white chocolate flavor) to their drink for a fizzling "Halloween Trick" for their tastebuds.
The Treat with Trick Frappuccino will be available at Starbucks throughout Japan from October 20th-31st in limited quantity.
