Malzeno Attacks!
As some grape Japan readers may recall, Tokyo has a giant 3D calico cat who meows and looks down on the crowd thanks to a 154.7 square meter digital rooftop ad space known as Cross Shinjuku Vision.
However, as of today, June 24th, 2022, pedestrians are probably going to be surprised when they see a dragon-like creature menacingly roaring above them instead!
Fans of the critically-acclaimed and top-selling Monster Hunter video game series will be happy to know that Malzeno, a powerful Elder Dragon introduced in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the new expansion for Monster Hunter Rise set for a June 30th release, has hijacked the 3D digital ad space!
Appearing in his "actual size," Malzeno will show up and menacingly roar eight times per hour between 7 a.m. and 1 a.m. from now until July 7th, 2022, so if you're in the Tokyo area, be sure to check it out! You can also catch the ad, although the 3D effect will be flattened, by viewing this official livecam feed of the ad space.
Twitter Campaign
To commemorate Malzeno's 3D appearance in Tokyo, Capcom is also running a special Twitter campaign.
A total of 10 lucky winners who retweet campaign tweets with the 3D video sent out from the official Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Twitter account (@MH_Rise_JP) or go to the 3D ad space in person to take their own video or photo and tweet it with the campaign hashtag #メルゼナ3D will win either a Malzeno Metallic Red amiibo or a Platinum Special Edition amiibo.
The campaign ends on July 7th, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. (JST). Prizes can only be sent to Japanese addresses. For details, visit the special website.
