What better way to honor a lost spouse than to recreate pictures you took with them with your children?
That’s exactly what Rafael Del Col did with his 2-year-old daughter Raisinha after he lost his wife in a tragic car accident. Getting inspiration from Ben Nunery, whose own wife lost her battle with cancer, Del Col decided to recreate his favorite pictures of him and his late wife — same poses, similar clothes and even similar facial expressions — with none other than the light of their life, Raisinha.
A father blogger from Brazil, Del Col shared these heartwarming pictures online, making all of his viewers reach for tissue boxes in all corners of the world.
The pictures, in all their perfection, not only reveals to us the love Del Col has for his family, but truly gives us a wonderful image of the entire Del Col family — of Rafael, his daughter Raisinha, and the continuing spirit of Del Col’s wife glowing through the smiles of both father and daughter.
While coping with a loss is never easy, Del Col has reminded us that through a little bit of creativity and a lot of love, overcoming difficult times can also be illuminating, and helps us rediscover our most important values through the sacrifices of our closest comrades in life.
