Kawaii “Cherry Toasts” Are Making Their Way To Japanese Instagrammers’ Breakfast Tables
October 16th is World Food Day, and non-profit organization Table For Two is encouraging SNS users all over the world to spare a few minutes of their time to help impoverished children living in Asia and Africa. As an organization that was first established in Japan, they're going back to their roots for the World Food Day Campaign 2016, and will be utilizing the power of onigiri (Japanese rice balls) to reach an ambitious annual goal of delivering 1 million meals to children in need.
To contribute to the campaign, all you have to do is buy or make onigiri, take a picture, and post it on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram with the hashtag #OnigiriAction. 5 school meals will be donated for each post, and you are free to post as many times as you want. And if you happen to have a bottle of Ooi Ocha next to you, make sure to include it in the shot as well — you'll be able to contribute 10 meals instead of 5!

#OnigiriAction will be valid from October 11th to November 30th. If you do decide to post a picture, make sure your privacy settings allow public views of posts, so that your contribution will not go unnoticed. People are already starting to snap shots of their onigiri, and hopefully, it will become a trend that spreads true compassion and a charitable heart.
As long as there's onigiri involved, participants can get as creative as they want. The most original pictures will be selected for the Best Onigiri Awards 2016, so you can have fun and help kids in need at the same time!
