Pajamas and "roomwear" made for lounging about indoors and in style aren't exactly new in Japan. After all, we've seen Japanese schoolgirl sailor uniform pajamas, and even a version that doubles as a wearable kotatsu. Now eccentric book and oddity shop Village Vanguard is taking the trend further with these fairy tale heroine themed pajamas that let you transform into Snow White, Red Riding Hood, Alice, and even a witch.

The "Wear a Fairy Tale at Home" series is very similar to wearable blankets available at Village Vanguard, and each entry features a detailed motif of iconic leading ladies from famous fairy tales. The pajama fabrics were made with lounging at home during the Winter season as a fairy tale character in mind, so they are comfortable to touch and high in heat retention. While the outfits aren't elastic, they are designed to be loose around the waist area, with bottom skirt portions able to cover all of your legs like a kotatsu when seated.

Red Riding Hood, Snow White, and the Witch outfits are priced at 9169 yen ($78.89 USD) while Alice is listed at 8089 yen ($69.61 USD) on Village Vanguard's online shop, which is currently taking reservations with a delivery expected sometime between late January and early March 2017. Unfortunately Village Vanguard only ships domestically within Japan. If you can't get it there, your best bet would be to wait a while and search "おうちで着る童話シリーズ" on Amazon, where releases like these are often available shortly after.
