Wedding etiquette in Japan: Things you should know when attending a Japanese wedding

A generous project put together by Stay Japan is giving a very lucky couple the chance to spend one night in Nagasaki’s Hirado Castle — for free. Built in 1718, the castle was once inhabited by the Matsura clan and the daimyo of the Hizen Province in Kyushu, and it still stands tall in Hirado City today. Since most sightseers don’t get the opportunity to step foot inside such historical landmarks, being able to spend a night without dishing out a single penny is sure to be an incredibly rare experience.

Interested travelers can enter by lottery, but unfortunately the application period will imminently close on April 23rd. Winners will spend the night from May 20th to May 21st inside this grand abode, and they’ll even enjoy a special tour, a feast fit for the great lords of 400 years ago, and the chance to go net fishing and visit famous Word Heritage Sites in the surrounding area.
