Aside from their trademark curly cute tails and miniature bean versions (which have spawned a mini-Shiba Inu cafe in Japan), Shiba Inu are well known for having a strong-willed and independent temperament, which can sometimes lead to frustratingly adorable bouts of stubbornness. Beneath that wily exterior are often warm and colorful personalities, and the same can be said of Hana-chan, who absolutely loves going to the park, and you can tell as much from her lovely expression.

Hana-chan's owner @87shiba87's Twitter account keeps a running log of the cheerful Shiba's exploits, but a running theme appears to be how insistent Hana-chan is about either refusing to go out for a walk, or refusing to return home from one. In stubbornly cute fashion, of course.
This is what happened when she was taking a regular walk, but decided going to the park was a better idea.
And with a face like that, how could you not listen to her?

Hana-chan isn't opposed to taking walks, in fact she seems to rather like them--but entirely at her own pace and will refuse to budge an inch if it doesn't lead in the direction she'd prefer to go. The 7-year old Shiba Inu will sometimes oblige her human by walking all the way back to their doorstep, only to refuse to enter the house in an almost trolling appeal. She also has a full wardrobe of funny outfits to complement her stopping-dead-in-her-tracks pose, which she often smiles through. Here are a few examples of Hana-chan showing off her adorably strong will. Be sure to follow @87shiba87 on Twitter for even more!
