Quality and presentation seem to be the name of the game at this café off Harajuku’s Cat Street.
Offering a wide range of green teas, Chachanoma's menu is preorganised into sets so that the type of tea served matches the food perfectly. Both sweet and savoury treats are on offer.

After making your order, the server will bring a card in Japanese showing information about the type of tea you will be given. Being from overseas myself, he also kindly explained in simple Japanese. Then the high quality teas are meticulously brewed in full view so you can see the care that’s taken with them.

I chose a matcha set which contained several desserts to enjoy. The plate included a matcha cheesecake, matcha ice cream and matcha chocolate. The whole plate was beautifully presented.

The matcha tea served alongside is a variation of okumidori from Washimine in Kyoto. It was authentically frothy and the bitterness was minimal, making it a perfect match for the sweet desserts.
