Ice cream bar version of popular Koeda chocolate snack has a surprise (Japanese learners take note!)
Rather than genuine gore, for Halloween in Japan you’re more likely to see the kawaii side of the spooky season. Halloween and candy go hand in hand, and Japan is the best place to find the cutest Halloween themed desserts and sweets.
This restaurant in Yokohama called Beauty and the Beast (with a theme to match) are giving you the chance to dig into as many of these cute sweets as you like at their Halloween party event.
The desserts are all spookily adorable, the menu includes pumpkin spider web pudding, eyeball jelly, purple sweet potato spider web tarts, rose black sesame seed roll cake, mini ghost chocolate cakes, mischievous pumpkin tarts, coffin chocolate cakes and Belle mini tarts. Being a Beauty and the Beast restaurant, there’s some items on the menu themed for the movie rather than Halloween.
If you need something savoury to offset the sweetness, there’s some non-dessert options too. Beast mini burgers, addictive potato fries, Japanese style mushroom spaghetti, colourful bean salad and pumpkin soup will be available, among other things.
The all you can eat buffet is only available on the weekend before Halloween, so that’s Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th October 2018. Coming in a costume is encouraged and the buffet is in a stand-up meal style, so everyone’s outfits can be fully appreciated.
Even if you’re not up for the all you can eat option, the Halloween limited time only menu will also be available from 15th October.
