Perhaps as compensation for anyone duped by their April Fool's rice cracker watches, or simply just tapping into the popularity of stylish anime-themed watches as seen with their Studio Ghibli collaborative timepieces, Quality watch manufacturers Seiko are celebrating the 40th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam with three limited edition Gundam-themed watches from their Prospex LX series.
The limited edition series will feature RX-78-2 Gundam, MS-06 Zaku II, and MS-06S Zaku II Char Custom suit inspired watches, with each themed watch being released in limited quantities.

The watch also displays the Earth Federation Forces mark, and the watch's "12" is designed to resemble the suit's head sensor unit. It'll be available for 630,000 yen.
MS-06 Zaku II
Perhaps the second most iconic suit in the series, the Zaku II watch features its anime counterpart's dark military green color scheme, as well a the a glowing pink circle reminiscent of the Zaku II's cyclopedia eye. It'll be mass produced in a release of 1,000 units on April 12 for 400,000 yen.
MS-06S Zaku II Char Custom
Themed after Char Aznable's custom MS-06S Zaku II, this watch features the same crimson color scheme as the horned leader unit. It'll be released on April 12 for 400,000 yen, also in a batch of 1,000 units.
The Mobile Suit Gundam themed watch series are available from Seiko, and will perhaps help fans countdown to the next installment of Hello Kitty vs. Gundam.
