In the days after the tragic arson-homicide incident on July 18th which claimed 34 lives, injured 34 and destroyed Kyoto Animation's Studio One Building, messages of sympathy and support have poured in from around the world.

International support
International fans and well-wishers have also expressed their support in the form of financial donations to help the beloved anime studio to heal:
Outside of Japan, Sentai Filmworks, the company responsible for the distribution of Kyoto Animation products in the US, launched an emergency crowdfunding campaign which has already raised over $2.1 million at the time of writing.
Within Japan, anime and manga goods retailer animate set up donation boxes in many of their stores, which filled up very quickly.
At the same time, there were also voices of concern on social media about "unofficial" donation channels.
Kyoto Animation makes an official announcement
Now, six days after the blaze, those concerns can be put to rest as Kyoto Animation has established a dedicated account for the purpose of accepting donations.
At 6 PM on July 24th, Kyoto Animation posted the following message on their home page:
Gratitude for your support and an announcement
With regards to the incident which occurred on July 18th, we are truly grateful for the voices of support we have received from many people around the world.
As a company, we intend making our utmost efforts to rebuild. Since we have received numerous comments from so many of you who wish to support us, we hereby announce that we have decided to set up a bank account to accept donations to our company.
We are sorry for the delay in making this announcement, even though we have been receiving numerous inquiries from all around.

Our fundamental stance on support funds
The support funds will be applied to the families and relatives of the employees who died and those who are currently undergoing medical treatment, as well as rebuilding the company.
In the interest of transparency, we will make a report on income and expenses with regards to all support funds received. We are currently considering the method and timing this report will be made, and we will announce it as soon as it is decided. As for the fundraising activities which are being conducted in support of our company, we will list them in order of confirmation on our company's home page.
