Japan Travel Guide: Shiroi Koibito “White Lover” Theme Park in Hokkaido Prefecture

Shiroi Koibito(白い恋人) is translated as “White Lover” and it is one of Hokkaido’s most popular souvenirs to buy.

The famous souvenirs look similar to European sweets and consist of a piece of white chocolate that is sandwiched between two squared biscuits, langue de chat (cat tongue).

In Sapporo, you will also find the Shiroi Koibito Themed Park operated by the Shiroi Koibito’s manufacturer, Ishiya Co.ltd.

When you get there, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into another country. The reason for that is the British influenced architecture of the place that is beautifully integrated into the design of the factory and park.

By “merging two cultures”, as it is written on the park’s official website, they have created such a wonderful and magical place for us to enjoy.

Besides enjoying the fresh air, nature and the tranquility of the park, there are quite a few activities you can try out.

The three places have such lovely names and all are full of love for chocolate and interesting exhibitions.

You can also discover chocolate making white dwarfs at the factory or time travel to the sweets’ world at the Chocotopia house; you can try out your skills at the market and also have a talk or ask the professor at the factory all you want to know.

Make cookies and Find the Photogenic Spots

At the factory, you can make your cookies, take beautiful and unique pictures at the photogenic spots in the park, such as the “Gulliver Town” or “London Bus”, participate in the various workshops available and of course, eat, eat and eat.
