We've seen some truly inventive sneaker designs over the past couple of years, including traditional ukiyo-e art footwear and an artist that turns Japanese snacks into vintage sneaker art.
Puma is getting in on the fun with their new RS-Dreamer Super Mario 64 sneakers, a collaboration with Nintendo that celebrates the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros.
The vibrant shoes condense the colorful world of Super Mario 64 into a set of sneakers that will have you jumping and yelling "Wahoo!" like everyone's favorite Goomba-stomping plumber. The shoes use PUMA Hoops technology and a RS-Foam heel, as well as dual midsole with ProFoam for high rebound and response. They are punctuated by a Super Star on the heel.
The sneakers were officially released on September 4th, and while are available from Footlocker and Puma directly, have been selling extremely fast so you may need to put some effort into finding a pair.
