This Halloween cake set from Japanese dessert specialist is the cutest way to enjoy spooktober
Ginza Cozy Corner is a Japanese confectionery shop with branches all over Japan. Aside from the usual cakes and sweets, they also make themed confections that are not only sweet, but also cute and colorful.
Oftentimes, their cakes take inspiration from Disney. Just this summer, they had an assortment of “Disney Sports Festival” cakes that almost looked too cute to take a bite out of.
For Halloween this year, they created a set of cakes inspired by some of the most iconic Disney movies and villains. The “Disney Princess and Villains Collection” consists of 9 mini-cakes representing characters like Aladdin’s Jasmine & Jafar, Sleeping Beauty’s Aurora and Maleficent, and even the Magic Mirror from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Aside from having cute designs tailored to each character, the cakes are also multi-dimensional in flavors. On the top left is a blueberry & chocolate cream cake of Maleficent in her dragon form. Next to it are two characters from Aladdin: Jasmine, represented by a white chocolate cream cake in the color of her signature outfit, and the conniving Jafar, who appears as a black cocoa sponge & orange mousse cake.
In the middle row from the left is Princess Aurora as a pink peach cream tart; next is the Magic Mirror on a cocoa tart with berry cream & chocolate mousse. The cake is meant to look like a witch’s pot boiling with suspiciously green bubbles. At the end of the row is Ariel, in the form of a vanilla & berry cake showing her bright red hair and violet shell outfit.
The bottom row begins with the Evil Queen from Snow White in a purple yam cream & green apple cake — a clever nod to the Evil Queen’s poison of choice. Next is an apple & soda-flavored tart for Snow White. The red goo on top matches that of the Evil Queen’s, and represents the poison apple pivotal to the movie’s plot. Last but not the least is Ursula, in a cocoa tart with blueberry cream that has one of her tentacles poking out of the side.
The cake set comes sold in a special box that has all the featured Disney princesses and villains.
