Unfortunately some people don’t get it. Overbearing friends don't recognize boundaries, and tightly-wound customers during the pandemic flip out at the slightest invocation. No matter who, everyone has experienced similar uncomfortable experiences.
Sadly, when it comes to public nuisances, women in Japan and in other countries have it particularly bad. Many are unnecessarily accosted and harassed by creepy individuals. While such unfortunate incidents can occur anywhere, it seems female commuters are particularly vulnerable on crowded trains. This problem has inspired online advice and PSAs, and even a stamp meant to mark gropers.
More recently, blogger Keiko produced a manga illustrating similar problems she and her family members have experienced. Fortunately, her eldest son was particularly quick-thinking in dealing with an incident.
The first part of the manga relates an unsettling experience she personally had in the train:

The second part of the manga takes place many months later when Keiko's eldest son, now in middle school, encountered a suspicious person when he was riding the train with his friend.
