Cthulhu, the Great Old One who waits dreaming at his home at R'lyeh, is so terrifying and beyond human imagination that there is no proper depiction of him other than sketches of his tentacled presence.
Still, that hasn't stopped Japanese Twitter user Narupajin (@narupajin) from approximating the image of everyone's favorite Lovecratian horror. Narupajin recently shared photos showing that they had recreated Cthulhu in culinary form, serving up a nabe (Japanese hot pot) of Cthulhu!

The nabe cleverly uses Romanesco broccoli, a fractal and spikey broccoli resembling cauliflower to recreate the green and pulpy image many often associate with Cthulhu, as well as whole octopus tentacles seeping out of the pot as his tendrils!
The pot itself appears to have a thick broth, stuffed with tofu, daikon, and goya bitter melon. Hot pots aren't exactly what we think of when it comes to intergalactic terror, but it appears Narupajin has made a very worthy attempt at approximating it in the form of food. Be sure to follow @narupajin for hopefully more attempts at Lovecraftian kitchen creations.
