Despite the pandemic putting a damper on cherry blossom viewing parties, it's getting to be that time of year in Japan where you can throw a stone in any direction and hit a sakura-flavored treat. Krispy Kreme and Starbucks are already dishing out sakura doughnuts and Frappuccinos, but one that might surprise people this year is being served up in Tokyo: sakura tacos!
The spring exclusive sakura tacos will be released from March 1st at Tokyo taco restaurant, Taco Fanatico. The cherry blossom themed treats are actually "dessert tacos", consisting of pink tortillas that sandwich sweet sakura bean paste and a matcha flavored tiramisu-style cream for a taste of Japanese spring.
The dessert sakura tacos will be available at Taco Fantatico until the end of April.
