Cat lovers and fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion were delighted last month when the original singer of the hit anime's iconic opening theme song, "A Cruel Angel’s Thesis", covered the song replacing every single lyric with the word "meow" in a fully animated cat-themed opening.
Perhaps the only thing that could top Yoko Takahashi's feline rendition is an actual cat singing the opening--and that's exactly what Medamayaki (TikTok,Twitter) provided just that with an adorable video of their cat Toto-kun somewhat begrudgingly helping them sing "A Cruel Angel’s Thesis."
As funny and impressive as it is for Toto-kun to chime in at just the right times in the song on cue, perhaps the cutest thing in the video is how the talkative cat has a look and attitude that seems to be saying "ugh, fine, I guess I'll sing!"
As you can see, Toto-kun is quite cute even when not covering anime songs!
