Sushi fans mark your calendars! ALL sushi is half off in unprecedented Kappa Sushi one-day offer
All-you-can-eat-sushi can be quite the luxurious treat, but it is often associated with the affordable deals of Japan's revolving kaitenzushi restaurants and chain izakaya, and not necessarily of the level one would expect to find at a top level sushi establishment.
One Tokyo izakaya is challenging that stereotype for a good cause, however, by offering an all-you-can-eat course of premium sushi freshly sourced from the Toyosu Fish Market.
A Shinjuku izakaya called "Ore no Sakana wo Kuttemiro!!" ("Eat my fish!!") has joined an initiative lead by AO Corporation to battle food waste by providing an all-you-can-eat sushi course that makes use of the celebrated seafood of the Toyosu Fish Market. The temporary menu service was originally started as a means of keeping seafood from the market from being discarded due to a lack of buyers during the pandemic.
The result is an all-you-can-eat offering of 20 different kinds of the freshest sushi that change daily with seasonal recommendations that would normally not be available at such a price. Sushi on the menu uses a special red vinegar rice, and includes toppings such as fresh tuna fatty tuna, salmon roe, striped horse mackerel, flatfish, and many other seasonal fresh fish that can usually only be enjoyed at high-end restaurants.
The 3,500 yen 90 minute all-you-can-eat sushi menu will be offered at the izakaya's West Shinjuku branch from June 21st to July 25th. Customers can find access information and make reservations at the official website.
