Japanese Digital Art Collective NAKED are best known for their interactive video and projection mapping installations which occur across the country at various locations.
Some of their most impressive works include the NAKED NIGHT SAUNA, which took over Tokyo Tower’s car park earlier this year, and their collaboration with Kyoto’s Nijo Castle during the sakura season. The company also runs a handful of smaller scale productions, such as the TREE by NAKED cafe located near Yoyogi Park.

The smaller size does not mean TREE by NAKED is any less magical, with the concept of the cafe being to provide a unique experience of blended food and art. Depending on the season, the store changes up both their interior and menu, so you can be sure each and every visit is different from the last.
Most recently the cafe has recreated the aesthetic of a tropical green rainforest paradise, and has introduced their 2021 summer menu which will be available until September.
The limited time atmospheric production combines plants, projection mapping and refreshing food which pairs perfectly with the summer heat.

In addition to TREE by NAKED’s usual menu which includes their popular American Cherry Millefeuille (EAT-IN only 1650 yen) and sets of TREE Canéles (EAT-IN 770 yen/ TAKE-OUT 756 yen), the cafe’s limited time summer-only menu consists of the following.

Passion Fruit Shikuwasa Soda
EAT-IN: 825 yen
TAKE-OUT: 810 yen

Shikuwasa (a Japanese citrus fruit) soda and pieces of raw passion fruit come together in this acidic summer concoction. The drink owes it’s blue colour to spirulina; a superfood praised for it’s high nutritional value and amino acid content. The fizz of the citrus soda contrasts well with the smooth texture of fresh passion fruit, and will leave you craving for the surprise of the next sip.

Vegan Ice Bar Pineapple & Banana Flavor
EAT-IN: 550 yen
TAKE-OUT: 540 yen

This vegan ice bar is made from a mixture of Taiwanese pineapple (known for being incredibly sweet and low in acidity), bananas and coconuts. Featuring MCT oil, the ice bar is perfect for those who are looking for something sweet but also healthy.

For this light, yet filling menu item, TREE by NAKED have taken their ‘Chicken Power Bowl’ – a staple of the regular menu – and mixed it up with a fresh set of summer-only vegetables. Summer vegetables such as paprika, okra and zucchini are topped with plenty of grilled chicken breast, making this a satisfying, yet carb-free dish. The bowl is finished off with a refreshing drizzle of guava dressing.
