Illustrator and anime character designer Ilya Kuvshinov’s solo exhibition: “CRYSTALLINE”

Ilya Kuvshinov is a top illustrator and contemporary artist, famous for his work as a character designer for the animated film The Wonderland (2019) and Netflix original anime Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045 (2020). The popular Russian artist, now well-known in Japan, has nearly 2 million followers on his Instagram account.

Ilya Kuvshinov solo exhibition: "CRYSTALLINE"

His latest solo exhibition, "CRYSTALLINE," will be held at the Anicoremix Gallery in Shibuya, Tokyo, from September 1st to 26th, 2021.

According to the press release, messages such as "You're the one to shine!", "Make your dreams come true!", "Take care of yourself!", and "Cherish life's treasures!" are expressed by the exhibition's title. Moreover, "the contrast in these works bring out rainbow hues (= hope), flashes of color, and three-dimensionality." In the darkness now facing our modern society, "these works seem to encourage us to shine more brightly and appreciate beauty within our lives." The exhibition will feature illustrations of "women who are pure and innocent, like modern-day fairies."

About 60 original works will be exhibited, including popular illustrations that have been published on Ilya Kuvshinov's social media accounts and new illustrations. Various goods featuring the illustrations will also go on sale online, incuding some goods sold by lottery.

atmos Collaboration Goods

In addition to what will be available at Anicoremix Gallery, the sneaker select store atmos' Propeller Street store (operated by TEXT Trading Company Co., Ltd.) will be a satellite venue for the exhibition where a selection of limtied-edition collaboration goods such as T-shirts, posters and color printed plastic files will be on sale from September 1st to 12th, 2021.
