If you are a foodie keeping a watchful eye on the latest gourmet trends, then there is not a chance that you’ve missed out on Neko Neko Shokupan and Neko Neko Cheesecake – two brands belonging to Heart Bread Antique Bakery that specialise in the production of cat-shaped food items.
Since launching back in 2019, both brands have gained quite a following, leading to the introduction of stores selling the adorable (and tasty) goods across the entirety of Japan.

Another popular brand, Pastel is well known for its ‘smooth pudding’ which was released way back in 1993. The pudding’s rich flavours and smooth soft texture blew away the consumer of the 90’s, and led to the spark of Japan’s ‘smooth pudding boom’. If you’ve ever fallen in love with the range of sweet puddings stocked up on the shelves of combini’s and supermarkets in Japan you should really be thanking these guys.

This September, both brands have come together to create the ultimate cat-cheesecake-pudding collaboration – Nyanchi Pudding.

Nyanchi Pudding sees the two brands come together in one adorably smooth and rich collaboration.

Pastel’s famously smooth pudding acts as a base for the Neko Neko Cheesecake’s cat-shaped cheesecake, which sits upon layers of tart apricot sauce and mouth watering caramel cream.
The sweet and rich flavour of the caramel pudding contrasts with that of the cheesecake’s tarty flavour, but both come together to melt with their equally smooth textures.
