Everyone knows that cats do not abide by the usual laws of physics. Because of this, what is intended to be a nice photo of a family pet can turn out looking like some sort of cryptid sighting. These mysterious phenomena include liquid cats, cats that seem to be able to read, and more.

Another favourite is the ‘long cat’. A cat which looks normal most of the time, but can sometimes reveal an unexpected and bizarrely long form. One Japanese Twitter user seems to have discovered the secret for revealing this form, and it’s a very simple solution.

This photo set which gained over 23 thousand retweets and 107 thousand likes shows a ridiculously long cat. Some commenters even wrote that they mistook it for a snake at first glance, and that the cat is about three times longer than it should be.

The reason for this longness reveal is that the heater in the room is on, and it’s particularly toasty in there.

The cat is enjoying this coziness to the full extent, and is stretched right out on the blanket.
