Soft and easy to clean, these Japanese diatomite bath mats will keep your feet dry and comfy
What do you drink when you're relaxing at home? It probably varies from coffee to tea to juice or maybe your favorite tipple if you're not working.
The usual coffee or tea is fine, but why not change your routine a bit and try making some authentic matcha?
We're not talking about those premade matcha beverages or buying a matcha latte at a coffee chain, but matcha made the authentic way with a specialized bamboo whisk.
If you think that sounds like too a lot of trouble to go through for some tea, you'd normally be right. The traditional chasen matcha whisk has a short handle and is designed specifically for short teacups, so you normally need to have a set of those (or at least one) if you want to do it right.
Thankfully, there's a great new way to enjoy an authentic matcha experience without needing those short teacups. We'd like to introduce a set featuring premium matcha green tea powder from Shizuoka Prefecture and an innovative matcha tea whisk specially designed for use in mug cups, so you can use to make matcha in a mug with the mug you already have at or the office.

Enjoy it in a mug! Shizuoka Matcha and Mug Cup Matcha Whisk Set
Authentic matcha served in tea ceremonies has an image of being an experience far removed from everyday life because of its special etiquette and the tools needed to make it.
However, it doesn't need to be so. With this product, you can turn matcha into a casual experience, while keeping the same freshly-whisked quality of matcha enjoyed in tea ceremonies.

In addition, the width of the whisk's tip has been made slimmer so that it is easier to make matcha even in a mug that does not have a wide opening.
This is perfect for people who have always wanted to enjoy authentic matcha at home or even at the office, but didn't imagine it was possible.
Another nice feature of this special whisk is that it comes with a customized holder so that the tip of the whisk doesn't touch your table after you've used it to make matcha.

Authentic matcha made by a tea wholesaler
The matcha in this set is made by a tea wholesaler in Shizuoka Prefecture, a famous tea-producing region.

The first crop of tencha 甜茶 tea from Shizuoka Prefecture is used and carefully ground with a stone mortar to preserve the flavor.
You'll appreciate the exquisite taste with its harmonious blend of bitterness and a hint of sweetness unique to matcha.
Matcha made easy
Making matcha is easy with this product! Just pour 1 teaspoon (5 g) of Matcha and hot water into a mug and stir with the whisk.

We made matcha at home
A writer at our sister site Grape, who had never made matcha before, actually tried using this handy matcha set.

She added a teaspoon of matcha and poured hot water into her mug until it was just under half full.
Since it was her first time holding a tea whisk, let alone a mug cup tea whisk, she naturally felt a bit of trepidation, but she proceeded to whisk the matcha.
Here is the result after a few minutes of whisking:

The matcha seems to have blended well, but the writer didn't think it looked foamy enough, the way she had seen matcha served in tea ceremonies on TV.
So this time, she held the tea whisk closer to the surface and whisked it again at that level...

The bubbles were so fine, it looked like real matcha!
She later found out that when making matcha, you should first whisk the bottom of the tea slowly to disperse the submerged matcha, then bring the tea whisk to the surface and whisk the tea with brisk back and forth movements from your wrist to create fine bubbles.

This was her first experience with authentic hand-whisked matcha, but she was very satisfied with the results! She's usually a coffee drinker, but matcha might be her new beverage of choice!
You can enjoy a sweet matcha latte by adding milk or sugar if you like.
