If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of the big city without needing to travel too far, then you need look no further than Kyushu’s newest accomodation site – INN THE PARK Fukuoka.
The venue is the second facility to join the INN THE PARK accommodation series, with the first, set in a forest in Shizuoka prefecture, having opened up back in 2017.
Just like the Shizuoka venue, INN THE PARK Fukuoka focuses on providing innovative accommodation, fine dining and unique activities that the whole family can enjoy. However, unlike the Shizuoka venue, INN THE PARK Fukuoka is tailored to fit an open coastal area, rather than an area surrounded by forests.
Located at Fukuoka’s Uminonakamichi Seaside Park, the new accommodation venue is just a small stone throw away from the city centre, making it an easily accessible option for those living in the area surrounding Hakata Bay.
Stretching approximately 6km from east to west, the total site area covers roughly 3.5㎡ – the equivalent of about five Yoyogi Parks).
Joining the new camping site are the large spherical tents that made their debut at INN THE PARK Numazu.
The signature image of INN THE PARK, these tents feature a new design with a diameter of approximately 6m and a height matching two-storey buildings. Inside the “living space” equals roughly 28㎡ and has the capacity to sleep up to three adults. At night these tents glow warmly in the dark.
In addition to the INN THE PARK’s unique spherical tents, the park also offers traditional tarp glamping tents that can sleep from 2 to 8 adults.
Each room features a “fireplace” and a “dining room” where guests can enjoy digging into outdoor-themed gastronomic goodness.
These glamping tents will open from March to November.
For a more private stay experience the site also has 3 cabins available. These cabins may seem secluded from the outside, but their large windows offer views of Hakata Bay that appear especially mesmerising at night.
These cabins are recommended for couples or individuals.
The final accommodation available at INN THE PARK Fukuoka is the luxury duo suite room located a little away from the main glamping area. These rooms can sleep up to 4 adults, and come with views overlooking Hakata bay.
In good weather guests can enjoy course meals on the private attached terrace.
Dining
Guests at INN THE PARK Fukuoka are spoilt for choice when it comes down to keeping hungry stomachs satisfied.
There is an onsite BBQ area that guests can easily use of their own accord, whilst the onsite restaurant offers comforting soul food such as curry and sandwiches during the day, and luxurious French cuisine-themed meals prepared using local ingredients come nighttime. In addition, a small coffee stand supervised by Tokyo’s Little Nap COFFEE STAND is in operation during the daytime.
Experiences and Activities
No stay is complete without entertainment and at INN THE PARK Fukuoka, there are a number of ways guests can relax and enjoy their time away from the stresses of day-to-day life.
An onsen facility is set up near the seaside part of the park. This onsen features both open-air and covered baths, both of which offer panoramic views across Hakata Bay.
In addition, the park features a “listening room” complete with fully-fledged audio equipment. From here guests can rent out a portable record player, and select music from the huge library of records to play wherever they like inside the park.
This space is dedicated to honouring the musical side of Fukuoka, as it has been dubbed a “city of music” on multiple occasions.
For those looking for more challenging or academic pastimes, the campsite is within reach of Uminonakamichi Seaside Park’s marina, zoo, aquariums, horse riding stables and the newly opened Sea Dragoon athletic tower.
INN THE PARK Fukuoka is now open and accepting reservations for stay through their website (Japanese only).
The campsite is located a short 15 minute walk through the park from Uminonakamichi station on the Kyushu Kashii Train Line.
