If you’re a fan of both cute characters and sweet snacks, then Japan is the place to be. In particular, Japanese company Sanrio have been utilising their whole back catalogue of adorable creations to collaborate with various eateries, resulting in some of the cutest desserts around.
For one, they’ve been teaming up with doughnut purveyors Floresta for a few years now, to bring fans charming doughnut versions of their favourite characters.
This season, they’ve decided to make a tribute to the phenomenon of shooting stars, perfect for summer. The associated characters are, of course, Little Twin Stars.
Both Kiki and Lala will appear on some ring doughnuts.
Floresta only use organic ingredients, with no artificial colouring or flavours, so the colourful design has been made with white chocolate, mixed with purple sweet potato powder, and strawberry powder to create purples and pinks. Each one is made by hand and every last bit is edible.
These ring doughnuts will be on sale from 2nd July until 12th, and will cost 520 yen each.
After this, another offering will be released, featuring Kiki and Lala as mini doughnut balls. These colourful and cute doughnuts can be bought as a cup set for 690 yen, from 13th July until 24th.
The Little Twin Stars doughnuts will go on sale in certain branches of Floresta during next month, and the store list can be found online. Alternatively, they can be ordered through Floresta's online shop.
