Whether as children or adults, most of us have entertained the idea at some point in our lives of eating delicious food to our heart's content.
In reality, there's a limit to how much we can eat, but the fact that such fantasies do exist may explain why binge-eating videos (known as 먹방 mukbang in Korean and 大食い動画 ōgui dōga in Japanese) have become one of the most popular genres on YouTube.
YouTube channel 『大食い主婦 もぐちゃん』 (ōgui shufu moguchan | Mogu-chan, the gluttonous housewife) is a good example of this trend.
Mogu-chan, who's based in Japan, eats a variety of foods, including fast food, Korean gourmet food, and convenience store food.
Fans love her for her content as well as her unconventional way of speaking. Some phrases you'll hear include: "It's like an electrical parade of flavors," and "(this dish is) like an exciting show where everyone's the star, and yet, miraculously, they all get along!"
You're sure to get hooked if you start watching her videos!
In this video, Mogu-chan boldly buys every single item on the breakfast menu at McDonald's Japan and eats it in one sitting. You may not be interested if you don't like fast food, but if you do, you'll want to see it!
The total cost was in the 6,000-yen range (around 50 USD at today's rate *), which amounts to quite a lot of food at McDonald's Japan.
Mogu-chan sang the praises of Hash Browns, calling them "definitely one of the best in the ranks of fried potato foods."
After watching her eat things like a Sausage Egg McMuffin and hotcakes, you might feel like making a trip to McDonald's after watching this video.
Just don't watch it if you're hungry or your stomach's growling will drown out the sound!
