Kenrokuen in Kanazawa is designated as one of the "three most beautiful landscape gardens" in the country by the Japanese government. It sounds like a very specific classification, the garden lives up to its reputation with a bounty of flowering trees that make for picturesque scenery during any season at just about any time of day.
Japanese photographer mame (@daizphoto) provided some gorgeous justification for that classification when they snapped a wonderful shot of the Kasumigaike pond, one of the two famous ponds in the garden. During the fall in particular, the garden's maple and cherry trees give the renowned garden brilliant colors that make it look like a fairy tale. Take a look at mame's amazing shot!

"The fall colors of Kenrokuen in Kanazawa are so beautiful you wouldn't think it's something in this world."
The island at the center of the pond appears almost as if it's floating, with the vibrant colors of its illuminated trees reflected in the water beautifully. The "fairytale" aesthetic of the shot is highlighted by "yukisuri", stylish ropes that are erected in a conal shape almost like a Christmas tree to protect the branches of the trees from heavy snowfall.
If you're visiting Japan in the fall, try and stop by Kenrokuen to check out this amazing dream-like scenery. You can also follow mame on Twiter for more awesome photography around the country.
