You'll find no shortage of cafes to take in some of the tastiest sweets in the Tokyo area in Shibuya, with Harajuku in particularly being a dessert paradise for those looking to satisfy their sweet tooth. BONDS DINER Harajuku has a new offering for those seeking a late night sweets adventure, however. Collaborating with their own inhouse floral brand HANARIDA, BONDS DINER Harajuku will be hosting a night time sweets café menu that pairs gourmet cake with "edible tea!"
The cafe's "night sweets" campaign operates as an evening pop-up menu (available on January 13th, 20th, and 27th from 17:00-21:30), and is highlighted by a fragrant lemon cake and sakicha, a type of "edible tea" filled with dry fruits. The concept behind the café is to offer a viable late-night sweets option for those who aren't quite ready to go home yet, such as after taking in a movie or local event.
The cafe's 1,500 yen set pairs their Fresca Cake, a citrus cake that uses batter mixed with Fresca tea leaves soaked overnight in gin and homemade lemon jam made with sweet malt, along with sakicha--a type of tea loaded with dried fruit. The aromatic tea that requires a spoon to really dig in comes in 12 flavors, including strawberry, pineapple, and apricot. For 200 yen, it can be substituted with a different soft drink or alcohol.
Those looking to partake in the nighttime sweets menu and unique tea experience can do so at the available dates by visiting BONDS DINER Harajuku (Section L Pop-up), 4-27-2 Jingumae, Shibu⾕-ku, Tokyo.
