This introductory tweet will set up a heartwarming tale about a kitten who had nowhere to go, and found a loving home and a new lease on life with an unusual family.

Her name is Komari. She was found in an extremely weak condition by her now owner, who at the time knew nothing about cats. So she sought out the advice of a vet, who told her that the cat was in dire need of nutrition, and that...

...her life depended on the amount of food she would be given in the next week.

So the owner rushed her home and took care of her. The only twist? The family had five ferret brothers, who she was worried about in terms of co-existing. Ferrets have a habit of playfully biting necks to establish dominance. How did Komari take to this?

Komari didn't give a single meow of protest, the owner says, and immediately hit it off with her ferret brothers!

"She thinks she's a ferret too," says the owner. "I give her separate food, but she only wants to eat with them!"

"It's strange, when her brothers are taking a bath she wants one too!"

Now Komari is back to health, loving her new family, and totally a ferret in a cat's body!

And there are so many cuddles to go around.

So what was once a sickly kitten looking for a second chance with loved ones...
