GENBI SHINKANSEN, a special bullet train of JR East, has been unveiled to the press for the first time on January 12, 2016.

A black body like this train is not very common, and so people are curious about it. But what is striking is not just the exterior and colors.
The fastest art gallery in the world
GENBI SHINKANSEN was developed in order to allow passengers view modern art while on the move. The 6-car bullet train will exhibit various items, from paintings, sculptures, and photography.

The exhibit includes works by art unit paramodel, photographer Naoki Ishikawa, and artist Haruka Kojin. The exterior features a design by photographer Mika Ninagawa; which is reminiscent of fireworks in Nagaoka, Niigata.
Well, when can we get on one this art gallery?
The GENBI SHINKANSEN is a modified version of E3 bullet train. It has been extensively renovated to accommodate for larger artworks.

This special bullet train will start running as a special service train connecting Echigo Yuzawa and Niigata from spring of 2016. I can't wait!
