In case you hadn't heard, there's a new Godzilla movie coming out in Japan, and if you've seen the terrifying new look that the King of the Monsters is sporting, then you'll have no problem believing that the director of the film is none other than Hideaki Anno, creator of the mega-popular anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. Because of this, Japan has seen a lot of teases promoting a crossover between the two colossal series (after all, kaiju and mecha go hand in hand!), and now that trend is continuing in perhaps the coolest way yet with these Evangelion Unit inspired Mechagodzilla figures.

While a similar figure was previously made exclusive via 7-Eleven Japan online, these two new figures are available online from Premium Bandai. Another difference is that these figures are based off of the 2002-2003 Mechagodzilla design, and come in the colors of both Evangelion Unit-01 and Evangelion Unit-02. They also tower over the previous figure with double the size, standing in at 32 centimeters (12.5 inches).

The awesome collaboration figures command a price of 29,160 yen ($267.59 USD) and are now ready for pre-order on their respective ordering pages. While we're not sure if Godzilla vs. Evangelion will ever happen, we're quite alright with the eternal kaiju-mecha tease if it keeps producing badass items and artwork like this!
