In Japan, there is a phrase for laughing and smiling kind of sheepishly and sticking your tongue out to the side of your mouth called tehepero (てへぺろ), which you may have seen many a schoolgirl do in photos. As it turns out, the master of the tehepero is no schoolgirl, but this adorably cheeky gecko winking right at the camera.

The gecko's name is gomashio--which literally means sesame salt, and is a reference to this leopard gecko's salt and pepper skin. The pictures come courtesy of Japanese Twitter user and reptile enthusiast @MassuChannel, and have won over the hearts of the Japanese internet by showing us just how charming a gecko can be!
