A day of sightseeing is always better when it’s topped off with a delicious treat, and travelers visiting the historical city of Kamakura now have one more option to choose from when deciding where to stop by for quick and relaxing break. Opening December 20th near Tsurugaoka Hachimangū shrine is Momiji Chaya, a Japanese modern tea house specializing in delectable matcha sweets.

Momiji Chaya will be located along the famous Komachi-dori Street which runs from Kamakura Station toward Tsurugaoka Hachimangū. Visitors looking for a sweet respite will find a traditional Japanese dessert menu that includes matcha drinks, matcha dorayaki (red bean pancake), and shiratama zenzai (sweet azuki bean soup with dumplings).
