"'GODZILLA' the animated movie takes the franchise into the uncharted territory of a future world in which Godzilla has dominated the earth for the past 20,000 years with mankind as diaspora, culminating in a fateful final confrontation." These are the words describing the backstory of the upcoming animated Godzilla movie scheduled to be released on November 17th of this year. Depicting a vastly transformed Earth thousands of years into the future in which Godzilla reigns king over other collosal creatures roaming the planet, the animated movie follows the story of Haruo, a brave youth seeking vengeance on Godzilla for his murdered parents.

The animated Godzilla movie is directed by Kobun Shizuno and Hiroyuki Seshita. Just recently on June 13th, the very first of its visual graphics were released to the public on the movie's official website, fulfilling the wishes of eager Godzilla fans waiting in great anticipation for its release. They show a menacing silhouette of the King of Monsters, who evidently evolves into a massive creature with a smaller head and bulging muscles.

According to Shizuno, Toho (the distributer of the Godzilla series in Japan) gave the creators permission to be as liberal with the storyline as they wished to be, without being tied down by plots and characteristics of Godzilla depicted in previous movies. This, the director believes, allowed them to produce a Godzilla movie that adapted perfectly into an animated movie that both shatters expectations and does justice to the King of Monsters.
